PERKINS ARTS FOUNDATION

EPK

"Perkins was quite Excellent. He looks the part and acted well. In fact, he was the catalyst for the entire production. Certainly no one else demonstrated the kind of presence exhibited by Perkins onstage. This comedy received a thoroughly interesting, if not totally absorbing interpretation."

"IN THE WEST"
NATIONAL AND LOCAL PRESS

Variety Magazine:

The bubbly Austin theatre scene, which just spawned Greater Tuna, has another contender for National attention.

This reviewer most enjoyed the monologues that have proved to be the biggest crowd pleasers, among them, the ode to truck safety written by Joe Sears and deftly performed by Rick Perkins.

Austin Chronicle:

To put it bluntly, this is an Inspired production.

The writing is of a surprisingly high caliber.

'In The West' is the best kind of theatre there is:

Exciting, Inspiring and Original.

Southern Exposure Magazine | Atlanta GA:

It makes audiences feel their own stories are worthwhile too, and that what they have to say is just as important as what is going on onstage.

Austin American Statesman:

'In the West' draws impetus from Richard Avedon's photo essay and inspiration from everyday life.  These artists have summoned up the Best in themselves to bring out the best in us all.

"The Border Radio Show" was as eclectic as the border radio culture it recreated. The wonderful production at the historic Paramount theater provided a wide menu of Texas music traditions from country & western to rock & roll.

Several colorful characters such as Dr. Brinkley "The Goat Gland doctor"...

Larger than life, Gov. Pappy "Please Pass the Biscuits" O'Daniel and the Legendary Wolfman Jack -

All played well by Rick Perkins."
